The Buffalo Bill Center of the West is considered the Smithsonian of the West. The center contains five museums and a research library, and is a must-see for anyone traveling to Lander. Guests can see hundreds of relic guns and weapons from the Old West and World War II. The museum’s founder Hans Kurth started collecting these rusty guns when he was only nine years old.
Buffalo Bill Dam

In 1976, the park’s president decided to add a steam room to his park and was given the go-ahead from the state. He installed a pipe from the state’s hot water line into the Vapor Cave. This pipe lets the hot water enter the cave at the same temperature as the state delivers it. The water then falls into a drain that surrounds the cave.
